Charity Golf Tournament
On Sunday June 8 th , Bailey's Team will hold its Fourth Annual BAILEY'S PAR Charity Golf Tournament in an effort to raise funds for research and support for individuals with autism.
Bailey was diagnosed with autism in June of 2001. As a result, we have dedicated ourselves to raising awareness about autism while also raising money to fund autism research in an effort to find the causes, treatments, preventions and possibly someday a cure for autism spectrum disorders.
Autism is a complex neurological disorder and impairs a person's ability to communicate and relate to others. It is also associated with rigid routines and repetitive behaviors.
Bailey is eight years old and still struggles with language and controlling his emotions and anxiety. Although he is verbal and able to use limited speech, he is unable to communicate in a conventional way and often requires prompting and supports to have his needs met throughout the day both at home and at school. Bailey will not reach the same developmental milestones expected of typical children; however, we will continue to work for and with him so that he will someday reach his full potential!
It is for this reason that we have decided to expand Bailey's Team mission. This year we will also support organizations that fund and or provide direct services to those living with autism to see our children get the help they need today!
Since 2001, Bailey's Team has raised $ 350,000 and we look forward to yet another successful year of fundraising with your support !
Most sincerely,
The Robertson Family

Autism Speaks
Autism Speaks is dedicated to funding global biomedical research into the causes, prevention, treatments, and cure for autism; to raising public awareness about autism and its effects on individuals, families, and society; and to bringing hope to all who deal with the hardships of this disorder.
We will work together to urge the government and private sector to listen to the concerns of individuals and families living with autism, and take action to address this urgent global health crisis.
Northern Bristol County
The Arc of Northern Bristol County
is a grass roots, non-profit association serving individuals with developmental
disabilities and their families. The Arc is a local affiliate of a state-wide
and national advocacy organization formed in 1959 by a small group of parents
concerned about the quality of life for their family members with disabilities.
Its mission is to strive for the right of all people with developmental disabilities to be valued as individuals, to experience choice, and to be fully included in all aspects of community life.
Autism is the fastest growing serious developmental disability in the United States and to date, there is no medical detection, treatment or cure.
Someone is diagnosed with autism every 20 minutes and most people require lifelong supervision and care.
More children will be diagnosed with autism this year than with AIDS, diabetes and cancer combined; occurring in an estimated 1 in 150 births.
Autism costs the nation over $90 billion per year, a figure expected to double over the next decade.
