Human Resource/Payroll Specialist Job #1219
Responsible for providing administrative support for all hr/payroll related issues. Ensures organizational effectiveness and efficiency within the human resources department and payroll aspect of the business department. Responsible for payroll processing and oversight. This position will have considerable contact within all levels of the organization. Must be proficient in MS Office, HRIS and payroll processing systems.
Three-five years of Human Resources and processing payroll experience required. High School Diploma required and Associate degree in accounting or related degree preferred, excellent interpersonal, communication (written/verbal) and organization skills. Excellent attention to detail. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Understanding of payroll/payroll tax laws and labor laws within the states of RI and MA.
Assists HR department in carrying out various human resources programs and procedures for all employees
Maintains HRIS system records with employee change requests, trainings, evaluations, benefits, certifications, car registrations, car insurance and licensure
Compiles reports from HRIS as needed
Prepares packets for orientation
Processing of employee terminations
Assists with the preparation of performance review forms/probationary review forms
Files employee and contractor papers/documents into files
Preparation of new employee files
Sends out education verifications for new employees
Handles email access and sets new employees up on Relias
Keep recruitment tracking sheet updated
Complete unemployment claims
Processes payroll for MA/RI employees.
Remains abreast of payroll processing system and changes in wage and tax laws
Solves problems concerning payroll, answers inquiries, and enforces payroll policies
Assists in recruitment efforts in absence of HR Generalist
Assists with various special projects
Performs other related duties as required and assigned
