The Arc of Bristol County was started in the late 1950’s by Attleboro area families looking for a better quality of life for their children with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Arc has been part of the fabric of the city of Attleboro ever since then, being the place where confused and desperate families find hope and care for their loved ones with disabilities. The Arc takes great pride in helping those who need our care in a responsible, economical and professional manner. In 2005, a generous donation from a family we served, allowed The Arc to buy the previous Community Visiting Nurses Association building at 141 Park Street in Attleboro and make it The Arc’s headquarters. Our headquarters houses all The Arc’s administrative functions, all financial, development, public relations and human resource offices, Child & Family Services and now has the room and capacity for large gatherings as well as a computer lab and teaching kitchen for life skills classes. Having all administrative and training functions centralized at our Attleboro headquarters has been highly cost-effective, able to support the infra-structure of our human-service organization and expanding services at our regional offices.
