What We Do
proAbility provides community support services to adults who reside with their family members in Rhode Island. These services are an opportunity for these individuals to enhance their skill development while continuing to reside with their family.

Eligibility
Criteria to receive Behavioral Healthcare, Developmental Disabilities & Hospitals (BHDDH) Funded Services:
•Be found eligible for DD-BHDDH services by meeting the eligibility criteria.
•Be found eligible for Medicaid either through SSI or the Department of Human Services. -
Services and Supports
proAbility staff will work closely with you to ensure that your Community Supports are designed to enhance your personal growth and skill development. This will be achieved via the development of an Individual Support Plan and ongoing contact with you.
proAbility’s Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) provide skill development services in the following areas:
• Self-Care
• Independent Living Skills
• Social Skills Development
• Other Identified Areas of Need -
Shared Living Arrangements
proAbility offers individuals the opportunity to live with a host family, fostering a family-like environment supported by a Shared Living provider, who provides housing and care. Together, they form a shared home as the individual progresses in their service plan.

Providing person-centered employment support for adults with disabilities in Northern Rhode Island.
