Navigating the Trust Process

What We Do

The Arc of Bristol County Trust Services helps people with disabilities retain eligibility for public benefits like MassHealth, SSI, and SSDI while enriching their quality of life.

Step 1: Choose your trust

We offer three types of trusts for individuals with disabilities. All three types protect benefits approval from MassHealth/Medicaid and Social Security.
We recommend you seek the independent advice of an experienced estate planning attorney or certified financial planner when selecting the type of trust that is right for your family member.

Step 2: Complete Application

The joinder agreement is the final step of the process of applying to the trust. Our attorneys will complete the joinder agreement, tailoring it to meet your specific needs. We will send it to you once it is ready.

Step 3: Learn how to use your trust

  • Master Pooled Trust Guide

This must be read before the trust sub-account can be used, and is available for reference throughout the life of the trust.

  • Acknowledgement of Policies Form

The Beneficiary or Personal Representative must complete this form after reading the Master Pooled Trust Guide to begin using the trust sub-account.
